Research Interests

My research is in the area of optical spectroscopy on semiconductor materials for photonics applications. It has focused on harnessing the material consequences of semiconductor alloy instabilities such as spontaneous ordering and spontaneous composition modulation for optoelectronic applications, and the study of abnormal as opposed to conventional substitutional semiconductor alloys. Other interests include understanding the peculiarities of light propagation in antisymmetric lattices and the application of Finsler geometry that governs this behavior in lattices exhibiting tensor periodicity.
